Skin Blading and Dermaplaning, are they not the same? In this training, we will clarify the difference between Skin Blading and Dermaplaning for Aesthetics Clinicians. To start, Skin Blading is a term coined by Isabel Calleros, an experienced skin care educator & former school owner. Skin blading is the umbrella term used to identify the process or technique used to assist removal of multiplex micro layers of necrotic skin cells or “scarf” skin on the Stratum Corneum utilizing a surgical blade. Dermaplaning, however, is a specific procedure/protocol that adds additional enhancements & treatments to skin blading customizable to each specific patient’s needs. Dead cellular buildup gives the skin a dull, dry, flakey and wrinkled appearance. This training will introduce 3 specific customizable procedures and protocols for Skin Blading: Oil Blading, Microplaning and Clinical Dermaplaning.
